Chris McKenna:

Hi, I’m Chris McKenna from Protect Young Eyes and in partnership with Worksighted, we want to bring you a series of short, helpful videos so that you can protect your family from online danger. So, let’s jump right in.

Maybe you’re an Android or maybe you’re an Apple family. Regardless, both of these devices come with great parental controls that you need to be aware of. In this video, I want to focus on Apple’s parental controls, which are all housed in a place called Restrictions. As a family, if you have young people who use Apple devices. Meaning, an iPhone, an iPad or an iPod Touch, you need to be intimately familiar with the restrictions so that, you can limit the types of access that your child has.

In the restrictions you can, for example, toggle off the camera, you can toggle off the App store, you can toggle off Safari. Or you can limit adult content so that you prevent the influx of pornography on some of the inappropriate websites that your child might get into. Knowing restrictions and some of the other features that come on an Apple device is so important. So we’ve spent a lot of time at Protect Young Eyes, under devices, explaining all of the ways that parents can protect their kids on the Apple devices that might exist in your home.

I hope that this information is helpful for you. Please visit protectyoungeyes.com, where you can read our blog. You can register for our bi-weekly parent newsletter.
