What is Office 365?
Office 365 is secure, anywhere access to email and calendars, Office Web Apps, instant messaging, conferencing, and file sharing. In order to accomplish this, Microsoft integrated three of their most innovative products into one centrally managed cloud portal.
Microsoft Exchange Online
Microsoft Exchange Online, one of these online services, offers cloud-based email, calendar, and contacts, allowing users to retrieve these from almost anywhere using their computer, browser, or phone. Email is run on globally-redundant servers, protected by built-in antivirus and anti-spam filters. 25 GB user mailboxes integrate with Outlook and can send attachments up to 25 MB. With Exchange Online, users can access online management tools that allow the user to administer user permissions and service settings and setup email on the user’s domain. Microsoft Exchange provides a complete business-class solution.
Microsoft Lync Online
Lync Online is a next-generation cloud communications service that connects people in new ways from anywhere by using presence, instant messaging, PC-to-PC calling, and rich online meetings with audio, video, and web conferencing. Real-time presence information such as photos, availability status, and location, as well as instant messaging, connect users efficiently and effectively. Lync Online also allows voice calls through the computer to other Lync users.
Microsoft Sharepoint Online
Microsoft SharePoint Online provides a central place to share documents and information, allowing users to work together on proposals and projects in real-time. With SharePoint Online, users can share and manage important documents quickly, both on and offline. External users can be invited to work on projects, documents, and other important data. It also keeps everyone up to date with company information and news. SharePoint Online keeps teams in sync.
